Florida Travel and Tourist Information
The weather in Florida is beautiful year around, except for the occasional rain shower, but other than that there are many interesting events and activities to take part in. This is actually an excellent time to take the family on a Florida vacation because the hot sites aren't very crowded. Disney World is the main site and the first week of February means that it won't be very crowded. It will get crowded on President's Day weekend. This is also the same scenario for the other sites such as Universal Studios, Sea World, Anheuser-Busch and the other big theme parks in Florida.
The Florida State Fair is also held in Tampa in February and is a lot of fun. There are more than 100 rides and games and don't forget the food. From anything fried to cotton candy, ice creams and caramel apples. The kids from 4H and FFA will be onsite showing their animals and wait until you get to Cracker Country. Cracker Country is a turn of the century rustic Florida village. There are always great bands for the headline entertainment as well as daily parades, a sea lion splash show, ballroom dancing, bull riding and barrel racing.
The Florida Renaissance Festival is held every February and features enchanted crafts villages, applaud hundreds of performers, knights a fighting and birds of prey. Of course there is also delicious food and continuous entertainment. This event is held annually at Deerfield Beach. The Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is a unique annual event. Guests get to stroll the street and view the artist's renderings on the streets and sidewalks.
The Silver Spurs Rodeo is held twice a year in February and October in Kissimmee. This is where some of the top cowboys and cowgirls come to compete in bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and barrel racing. The rodeo was founded by the Silver Spurs Riding Club in 1944. The rodeo has grown to be one of the top rodeos in the country and the largest one east of the Mississippi. It is also one of the top 50 events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The average water temperatures for the Gulf of Mexico in February range around the high 50s and 60s. The Atlantic Ocean range from the mid 50s near Central Florida north. The southern beaches to the Keys tend to have water temperatures that are several degrees warmer.About the Author
